Question by AyeBeSee: Choosing a College Major?
I’m 16 going to be 17 living in California and right now going to be a senior. I think I don’t have much time left to pick majors and colleges, so I’m wondering if there are any surveys or quizzes that might guide me to picking one. I’m kind of leaning toward traveling and exploring other places around the world. If you have any suggestions for college and majors you like please tell me about them, Thank you. (Doesn’t have to do with travel or exploring)

There are a lot of careers that can lead to travel. Business, journalism, science, etc. Journalism or photography might be a good fit, especially if you want to actually spend time in different countries, not just be in a hotel room.

Not quite the question you asked, but “Join the Navy and see the World.”
I’m not joking. You do indeed have until your sophomore year, but in some fields that will mean you will be in college 5 or 6 years. For example, if you wanted to be a math major, you need to know that at entrance in order to finish in four years.
If you don’t even know what you’re interested in studying, maybe you need more time before you start. Think of all those guys who get in Caltech; they know absolutely for sure what they want to do.
After a few years in the Navy, you’ll know what you want to do, and don’t want to do. And you’ll have a lot of financial support as a vet. Watch the PBS series “Carrier”. It’s available on Hulu.com.

You have at least a year or two before you have to actually settle into your major. Your freshman & sophomore year are basically core classes which means every major has to take them (english, math, history, etc.) Once you are at the college talking with other students & making new friends you will hear about all of the different majors.
I’m sure that you can take a few classes on geography & history along with a few other courses not pertaining to travel just to see if you like it or not.
Don’t know how useful this will be but I found this quiz…Good Luck!!
